It’s Pi Day! Where To Get Pies on 3.14.15 from the Illinois Science Council

Pi is 3.14159265359, so how about grabbing a piece of pie on 3/14/15 at 9:26am? Sounds like a great breakfast, doesn’t it?

Personally, I plan on running 31.4 miles to celebrate. No, you did not read that wrong. I didn’t put the decimal in the wrong place. I would love to run 3.14 for Pi Day, but this gal is still training for that epic 100 mile race in April. Therefore, I will be chasing those miles this weekend.

After that run? Of course I want pie!

Chicago Restaurants & Bakeries for Pi Day

You can’t cook or bake without math, which means Chicago’s amazing restaurants and bakeries are filled with chefs particularly fond of the tastiest of holidays – Pi Day. Since 2009, ISC has asked them to share their creativity with Chicagoans on March 14, the day celebrated internationally in honor of the math constant pi which is abbreviated to 3.14 continues indefinitely (like our love for pie).

Tell your favorite establishment to let us know about their pi day celebration so we can share it with everyone. We will list them all here, so check back before Saturday, March 14th to find everywhere you can get a tasty treat to celebrate PI DAY! This year,  2015 adds two more digits to our pi-inspired fun (3.14.15).  Fun fact — March 14 also happens to have been Albert Einstein’s birthday.  So you can raise a toast – or an Einstein or pi cupcake like these from Swirlz Cupcakes – in his honor too!
